Built upon a 15 year foundation of fax server industry
expertise, FaxCore is a leading provider of fax server
automation solutions for enterprise organizations.
With its Web-based interface, the company's flagship
FaxCore 4361 provides a centralized system to automate
fax communications and easily fax-enable business
processes and other third-party applications. Additionally,
FaxCore's powerful document server provides a way
to significantly improve data and process workflow,
offering powerful archiving and routing capabilities.
FaxCore is a strategic partner of Brooktrout, the
industry standard in intelligent fax hardware. The
company is also a Microsoft Business Solutions Partner,
which ensures seamless integration with Microsoft
applications. . FaxCore provides advanced faxing functions
by allowing Users to send and receive faxes with a
standard issue browser such as Microsoft's Internet
Explorer. The advanced fax controls such as preview
the fax before sending, live monitoring of fax status,
on-the-fly cover page selection, delayed send times,
and other advanced features are available to Users
without having to install any client software.
To
send a document to both fax and email addresses with
FaxCore. FaxCore has a built in SMTP email connection
that allows a User to send a message to both email
and fax recipients. Users can also take advantage
of the FaxCore address books that allow them to store
both fax and email addresses in one list which makes
it easy to send information to people the way they
prefer to receive it, either via fax or email, or
both.
Print to Fax from any desktop application. To
send a fax, Users can simply print the document to
the FaxCore Fax Printer. The FaxCore Printer renders
the print stream into a TIFF file at the desktop and
then launches the FaxCore Send screen where the Recipient
information is supplied, along with any additional
comments to be placed on the Cover Page.
Send and receive faxes with Microsoft Outlook and
Exchange. Faxes can also be sent and received
from Microsoft Outlook. To send a fax, users create
a new mail message, select a "Business Fax"
address from their Outlook Contacts list, type cover
page text in the body of email message, then attach
the file(s) or documents they wish to fax. If the
fax recipient is not set up as a contact, the following
address syntax will result in the email being routed
to the FaxCore fax server for delivery; [FAX:Bob Jones@1-800-555-1212].
Once the fax is sent, a delivery confirmation, or
non-delivery in the event of a failed fax, will be
sent to the user.
Accessing FaxCore from within Outlook. Microsoft
Outlook allows for folders have link to a URL and
display that web page as the default view within that
folder. In order to fully exploit that feature, FaxCore
has developed a special web page that has shortcuts
into Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items and the Send Fax screens.
By adding a FaxCore folder to Outlook, users can access
all of FaxCore's advanced fax features right from
within Outlook.
Store and attach frequently faxed documents in the
FaxCore Document Server. FaxCore ships with a
powerful document server that allows Users to create
folders and upload documents that are frequently faxed
and emailed. For road warriors this one feature alone
will save countless hours of dial-up time used while
the same document is sent from Outlook over a RAS
connection. With the FaxCore thin client and document
server, an internet connection is all that is needed
to schedule fax and email transmissions.
Advance notifications of fax transmissions via email
tell recipients that a fax is being sent to them.
Modeled after the on-line shipping interfaces (such
as FedEx or UPS), Users can have FaxCore send the
fax recipient an email message alerting them that
a fax is being sent to them. Additionally, if the
fax transmission is unsuccessful, the recipient has
the option of changing the fax destination phone number
or generating a PDF or TIFF file that they can download
to their desktop.
Features for the administrator
Pure Web based Administration of the FaxCore Server
and User accounts. If you have internet access
you can administer and monitor FaxCore servers anywhere
in the world through a standard issue browser.
FaxCore Active Directory Connectors provide a non-intrusive
way to create FaxCore User Profiles. Rather than extending
Schemas or installing custom connectors that propagate
additional attributes throughout the Organization,
FaxCore utilizes LDAP Queries and timed synchronizations
to create FaxCore User Profiles. Creating FaxCore
User Profiles is simple. FaxCore will automatically
create and update User profiles when performing a
query of the Active Directory archive or subset defined
in a specific distribution group.
Zero touch deployment with the FaxCore's thin client
interface that doesn't require any Active X or Java
plugins. The intuitive design of the GU I combined
with the Quick Reference guide with lots of screen
shots also minimizes training related issues.
Email integration added without installing any software
on your Exchange 5.5,2000,2003 or Lotus Notes server.
FaxCore was designed to be as non-intrusive as possible.
To that end, we fax enable email servers by simply
creating a new "Route" that directs messages
destined for a Fax address to go to the FaxCore Server.
A simple one minute setup on the mail server is all
that is required to FaxCore enable the entire email
system.
Independent and Open Standards based Database design.
FaxCore ships with and ANSI compliant SQL database,
making it easy to instantly Archive every fax that
is ever sent or received by FaxCore. Additionally,
if the standard reports don't meet a corporate requirement,
the open database contains every attribute associated
with the fax transmission being indexed, allowing
for a multitude of report configurations.
A powerful Document Server, a design feature unique
to FaxCore, segregates fax image storage from the
email repository and core components. The Document
Server provides access to all fax images via a standard
browser interface. The FaxCore document server also
provides automatic archival of all faxes sent or received.
Once fax images are stored, every imaginable attribute
of the fax is searchable: date, time, CSI, Caller
10, number of pages, ON IS, etc.
FaxCore is built native for Microsoft's .NET platform,
allowing companies to fax-enable .NET applications
with as few as 10 lines of code. The FaxCore SDK
provides a rich set of .NET class libraries and Web
Service interfaces to close the business loop with
mission critical applications.
XML Interfaces. Use Microsoft's BizTalk Sever
and other applications that have XML driven web service
APls.
Fax device drivers are written with the new Brooktrout
3.x SDK. FaxCore supports the new generation Brooktrout
TR1034 board. The Brooktrout TR1034 intelligent
fax boards provide v.34 faxing (33.6 Kbps), color
and high resolution faxing on a Universal PCI compliant
card. The new 3.x Brooktrout API also provides advanced
call control, logging and debugging capabilities not
available to older fax server applications.
Server based Document Rendering performed by the FaxCore
Rendering Service and/or native applications transforms
common office documents (Word, PowerPoint, Excel,
Visio, PDF, etc) into faxable content.
FaxCore's N-Tier design provides the separation and
security demanded by organizations today. By separating
distinct functions, enterprise security, scalability
and fault tolerance can be implemented. FaxCore configurations
can be broken up and segregated with router/firewall
devices between the following network subnets:
+
Presentation Layer (liS Servers and FaxCore thin
client)
+ Application Layer (Document Rendering, Fax Agent
driving fax board resources) + Data Base Layer (providing
fax & data storage, reporting and instant archival)
FaxCore
is architected with the same web services design that
popular on-line retailers use to provide scalable
and fault tolerant Internet based services. FaxCore's
architecture enables organizations to duplicate and
spread critical system processes across multiple PCs.
For example, rather than putting all fax boards into
a single Server, spread them out over multiple PCs,
each containing 50%, 25%, 20%, etc. of the fax boards
and PSTN connections, thus eliminating single points
of failure. This same concept can be applied to all
of the critical fax server functions: Rendering, Document
Storage, Presentation Services, and Event Processing.
